Announcing the LA vs Hate Summer of Solidarity Program

On World Cultural Diversity Day, Sundy, May 21st, we will be launching the LA vs Hate Summer of Solidarity program - a summer-long activation inviting us all to take a stance against hate. We will celebrate cultural moments and traditions, partners, and community leaders and members - showcasing that solidarity is stronger than hate. Summer of Solidarity will also allow us to continue building awareness of LA vs Hate and 211LA services while uplifting LA County’s cultural diversity.

A core component of this program will be the launch of five artist-led and community-informed murals throughout LA County, to uplift diverse communities across each supervisorial district. Each mural unveiling will be an opportunity to galvanize community leaders and members in celebrating their rich cultures and histories and the power of art to bring diverse people together. LA vs Hate will work with our partners to unveil each mural and host a community event to showcase and celebrate our collective action.

Through our program, these murals will create backdrops for local engagement including cultural events, community organizing, family activities and more. We will also provide partners with digital content and toolkits to engage communities all summer long. To stay up to date on all of our Summer of Solidarity events, you can check out our Community Events Calendar for upcoming opportunities to celebrate with us throughout the summer.

If you are planning on hosting your own Summer of Solidarity event in your community and would like to add it to our calendar, please reach out to Fabiana Cardenas at fabi@lavshate.org.
